It is worth noting that your choice on the color should be dictated by the amount of light getting inside the room. Bright colors may look great but if you use them on rooms which receive much light, they will fade quickly. However, if you will be changing them a lot, it is not an issue that should concern you. When you consider neutral colors, it will be easy for you to match them with any kind of d?cor and they do not fade quickly too. In cases of the material, velvet, faux silk, linen, and silk are the best as far as hanging is concerned. It is worth noting that among the list, faux silk is the most durable and it does not fade easily even when on a sunny window. If insulation is a factor in your choice, note that tweed, velvet, tapestry, and suede are the best at blocking out light and retaining the heat.
It is good to have floor length curtains but do not overdo the length. They do not just look funny but you will have lost a chunk of material for no good course. Therefore, measure the length of the hanging panel to the floor so that you will have an idea of what to get. It does not even require a lot of effort because it is something you can do within minutes as long as you have a tape measure. Your curtains should be customized if you are keen about every decoration item you are adding into your house.
